![]() HOLLYWOOD HOGAN What can you say about this man that hasn't been said before ?? Unquestionably the man who put pro. wrestling on the map, and in my opinion, the greatest wrestler ever - certainly the greatest in my lifetime. Formerly known as "Hulk Hogan", the Venice Beach, California native dominated the sport for so many years in the WWF. Adored by millions of "Hulkamaniacs" and a shining example to kids everywhere - Hogan held the championship belt on so many occasions, his trademark big boot followed by a leg-drop, finishing off opponents. Hogan eventually left the WWF, and joined Eric Bischoff's revolution of WCW, where he quickly made his mark - enjoying the same kind of success he did at the WWF. However, one fateful night on Nitro, Hogan appeared in his trademark yellow attire, and came out in the middle of a tag match involving the Outsiders - Kevin Nash and Scott Hall, who had recently jumped ship from WWF. It looked like Hogan was about to fight with them, but to everyone's surprise, he helped the Outsiders gain the win. Hogan was interviewed soon after, and he shouted "You fans can stick it brother!!" - and with those words, Hulk Hogan was gone, and Hollywood Hogan was born. Hogan has never looked back since, and has held the title on numerous occasions, continuing to bring the New World Order's reign of destruction to higher levels. "BIG SEXY" KEVIN NASH Born in Phoenix, Arizona - Kevin "Big Sexy" Nash, the master of the jacknife powerbomb stands at a huge 7''1 tall, and is a sheer tower of a man. Nash first made his name in the WWF under the name of "Big Daddy Cool" Diesel, where he was at first a bodyguard to Shawn Michaels, until the two fell out, and Diesel started his own career as a wrestler. He Had a thunderous impact on the WWF - winning the title and holding it for months, Diesel looked unstoppable. However, things started to become uncertain over Diesel's future, and it eventually emerged that he had left, and joined the WCW. SCOTT HALL They don't come badder, tougher and cooler than Scott Hall. Hall joined the WCW at the same time as Kevin Nash, and thrived in the legendary Outsiders tag-team. He's known for his rebellious and arrogant streak as he struts his stuff in the WCW - the original founding father of the nWo, he likes to do things his was - nWo style !! With his lethal Outsiders Edge finisher, Hall can beat anyone on his day, and is a former US champion. Hall's two most outrageous stunts have come at the hands of Goldberg and Roddy Piper. Goldberg had been pummelled by the nWo, when Hall appeared with a stun gun, and proceded to shock the unconscious Goldberg with the gun like a dog. A similar attack by the Wolfpac on Piper - when Hall came in, kicked Piper, and then stunned him as well - and if that wasn't enough, he took his kilt, put it on and danced around - making a mockery of Piper's heritage (and yes, I was a little offended, but Hall's the man - and hey, it's the nWo :) ). Hall has in fact not been seen over the past couple of months, and rumours have surfaced over a possible switch back to the WWF - but more recently it has been suggested that he is to return as the 4th Horseman - but for now, he remains a member of the Wolfpac. "BIG POPPA PUMP" SCOTT STEINER Scott "Big Poppa Pump" Steiner is the most dangerous man in wrestling today, and it'll come as no curprise to learn that he's my current fave wrestler !!(I'm bleaching my hair blond and everything!!). Built with a huge, rippling physique, with the largest arms in the business, he is a powerhouse of terror and destruction. Once allied with his brother Rick for so many years, in a tag-team known as The Steiner Brothers - Scott eventually turned his back on his brother, and joined the ever growing New World Order. He allied himself with Buff Bagwell for many months, and between them, they mixed Buff's cockiness and sharpness with Scott's power and strength to form a great combination - even taking over the nWo at one point. Scott won the TV title and the US title, but his long time friend Buff Bagwell caused him to lose his US title at the hands of Booker T, by inadvertantly whacking him with a chair. The following night on Nitro, the two appeared like normal, however, Steiner had a real go at Bagwell - suggesting his integrity and intelligence was not up to standard. An argument followed, and just when it looked as if they were going to pacth things up, Scott gave Bagwell one of his signature belly to belly suplexes. As the crowd jeered, they could only watch in horror as Steiner grabbed a chair and punded Buff's bad neck as he lay on the mat - his neck had been very badly injured not so long before. That spelled the end for Bagwell and Steiner. At the recent Slamboree, bagwell and Steiner fought for the US title, and Rick Steiner appeared as if to help Buff Bagwell, only to turn his back on Buff, by smashing his back with a chair, leaving his brother Scott with a great chance to secure the title - which he did so by slapping on his finisher, the Steiner Recliner. Now, the Steiner brothers are back together - look for the pair, with their nastier attitudes, to reclaim past glories - only this time, nWo style !! RICK STEINER Rick, known as the dog faced gremlin, is the older of brother of "Big Poppa Pump" Scott Steiner. the two were a highly successful tag team before their split, but they have since reconciled, and are now back together. Rick was the man who nearly ended Buff Bagwell's career - causing Buff Daddy to sustain that horrific neck injury. Confusion actually surrounds Rick's loyalties - he has appeared numerous times with the red and black nWo tee-shirt on, but he says that he is merely mocking the faction - however, his recent reconciliation with his brother suggests otherwise. At the minute - we are to assume he's one of da Pac !! LEX LUGER Lex "The Total Package" Luger is one of the real powerhouses in wrestling - after a standout career in the NFL, he entered the wrestling world - and has found considerable success. His finest hour came on Monday Nitro in 1997, when he defeated Hollywood Hogan for the World Title. Lex also won the US belt, in 1998. He originally joined the Wolfpac mainly because of his friendship with Sting, however, Luger has been out injured at the time of Sting's return, so it remain's to be seen whether he will stay - but for now, Luger runs with da Pac !! Disco Inferno has talent - but he's severely lacking in credibility. Definately the most disrespected star in the business - largely down to his attire and persona. A quick wrestler - Disco seemed to be going nowhere in the WCW, even after teaming with fellow dance-a-holic Alex Wright. Disco started to cry out to be invited into the Wolfpac, and he made his claim known every week on Nitro - even running out to help Scott Hall when 5 nWo Hollywood members were beating the hell out of him - the pair have since struck up a friendship. He also, foolishly, challenged any nWo hollywood member to a match to prove himself - and he got his wish, in the form of the Giant, and he was not surprisingly, "taken to the cleaners". However, Disco's persistence paid off, and he was finally accepted into the Wolfpac by Kevin Nash. He is one of the survivors form the original Wolfpac who now carry the present day nWo flag. | |||||||||||||||||
